Dirty hair: Don't care.
Updated: Jan 17, 2023
I have lived so many years of my life wondering how other women and some men have the BEST- looking hair all the time. It took me many years, tons of blog reading and some trial and error to realize that the secret to amazing hair is simply to do less not more. I'm sure forty percent of you reading this will stop right now and scroll onto something else to read as you have already known the secret that no one talks about!
"To wash your hair or not wash your hair. That is the question."
In all honesty would you have ever thought that washing your hair less would lead you to the perfection of those bouncy curls day after day or the smooth and straight finish you can only get with a wash and blowout? To wash your hair or not wash your. That is the true question here. The products have made a big difference too. I once was the Vidal Sassoon queen. Those Burgundy and Pink bottles with the perfectly flat bottom and top so you could get every last drop of shampoo and conditioner. Fast forward to boy momma years, the current season I am navigating as gracefully as any momma can skate through. I have transitioned from wet hair that looks unkempt and barely brushed to curls, smooth, and the best baseball cap style any girl loves.
So, what is the secret? Train your hair. It's that simple. It was a process that took courage and some wincing and wondering. I started simply by skipping every other day's hair wash and increasing the skipped days every 4-5 days. I now wash my hair and dry it about every 5-7 days. I know it sounds crazy and as most people would say disgusting, but this is the truth. It's how I have managed to feel the best with my hair style and its so time saving too. So how do I get through the days nearing the end? Dry shampoo. Messy Buns. Baseball caps and serum!
My fave products:
Navy Hair Care Shampoo & Conditioner
What is my process and why do I think they are worth it? I use the CR Shampoo and hair mask once a week then I use the Navy hair care shampoo & conditioner once a week. The Navy products promote hair growth and I have seen some awesome results from its use. The CR serum is used during blow outs, and I apply it to the ends of my hair a couple times a week between washing. Lastly living proof dry shampoo is applied to my roots as needed. I typically will spray it on, rub it in, prior to my shower then brush it through and throw my hair in a high bun. The living proof dry shampoo is the only one I have grown to love as my hair is dark and it doesn't turn my roots stark white. It also absorbs quickly, and my roots are not weighed down by it either.
Dirty hair don't care is truthfully my motto. Of course, If I'm gardening or doing something extra dirty or sweaty there will be weeks that my hair is washed more. Overall, my average is once every 5-7 days. Message me with any questions. Once I learn beauty secrets, I like to share them not sneak them.
Be the change, yet stay the rock.
